Our Services

At present Aboriginal Households are currently provided social housing in four [4] major streams.  These include:-

  1. General public housing
  2. Specific public housing for Aboriginal tenants
  3. Indigenous run community housing
  4. Mainstream community housing

It is expected in the coming year Coodjingburra Home will receive stock from the general [I] and specific [II]. Coodjingburra Home is projecting to manage over 100 properties within the next three [3] years.  These homes will house individuals and families who currently reside in Aboriginal Housing Office, Local Aboriginal Land Councils and Aboriginal Co-op stock.   People residing in these homes will range from the most vulnerable in our communities or the low to high income earners.

Currently rental income is set according to the NSW Community Housing Rent Policy and Coodjingburra Home  intends on improving the management and quality of service from previous managing agents in relation to the collection of monies, repairs and maintenance of these properties.

At present the anticipated expected transfer of Aboriginal Housing Stock to Community Housing Providers [CHP] this area is significantly underserviced and we recognize an opportunity for an Aboriginal entity to provide culturally appropriate and competent service to our Aboriginal Tenants.

Coodjingburra Home is currently registered with the National Regulatory System Community Housing (NRSCH). We have held face to face meetings and gained support from the current CEO of the AHO, numerous Aboriginal  LALC and is a member of Q Shelter in Queensland.
